L’avenir bat au présent
Vingt Mars marks the transformation of Belgian architecture practice Alinea into a multidisciplinary collective driven by a shared vision of the future. More than a name change, it reflects a shift in posture from a traditional architecture studio to a group shaping spaces through dialogue, balance and long-term thinking.
The name vingt mars refers to the spring equinox, a moment of perfect equilibrium between light and darkness, a symbolic turning point where a new cycle begins. It embodies the idea of balance, transition and collective rhythm. For the team, architecture is not static; it is a living process that connects present decisions to future ways of inhabiting the world.
Through naming, visual identity and launch strategy, the rebranding positions Vingt Mars as a practice where the future is not anticipated but is already shaped in the present.
BRAND MOVIE
A brand film was created to embody the transition from Alinea to Vingt Mars, connecting past, present and future through a layered cinematic language. Camcorder textures evoke memory and origins, while FX3 footage, grain and natural light bring depth and immediacy. Interviews with collaborators reflect the new collective vision, blending sensitivity with intention.
Creative direction by Bastien Braconnier, photography and editing by Matthias Krafft, with additional cinematography by Lucas Liesens. Directed by John Akwete Ngange.
A full team photoshoot was also produced to align portraiture with the new positioning, photographed by Antoine Sedran.
